My name is Ms. Julie. I teach Spanish to students in grades four through seven in Wilmette, Illinois. I grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago and now live in Glenview. My educational journey began at DePaul University, where I majored in education and minored in Spanish. I later earned a master’s degree in education focusing on human services and counseling from DePaul.
Throughout my career, I have worked in various educational roles that have shaped my passion for supporting students. I spent six years teaching middle school English and five years teaching middle school social studies. I also worked as a high school guidance counselor for twelve years, helping students navigate their transition into high school, guiding them through academic and personal challenges, and supporting them in college planning and application. No matter the role, my goal has always been to help students succeed and grow in confidence.
Outside the classroom, I love spending time with my family, reading, and traveling. These experiences allow me to bring new perspectives and insights into my teaching, making learning more engaging and meaningful for students.
A quote that resonates with my teaching philosophy is, "A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning." Every child is unique, and I strive to provide individualized instruction that meets their specific needs and helps them develop a love for learning.
I am committed to supporting students academically, emotionally, and socially and building strong relationships with their families. Learning is a journey, and I look forward to being part of it and helping students gain confidence and reach their full potential.
