My name is Mr. Jackson, and I am a second-year graduate student at DePaul University studying Secondary Mathematics Education. I also have a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While my background is primarily in STEM, I’ve always wanted to return to the classroom and become a high school math teacher. After my first job out of undergrad, I quickly realized I wanted to chase my passion and follow this dream, so I enrolled at DePaul!
My extensive teaching experience has helped me become a valuable tutor in multiple math subjects. At Illinois, I was an Engineering Learning Assistant, where I taught a freshman-level engineering orientation course during my junior and senior years. Last year, I was a Supplemental Instructor at DePaul for their Business Statistics course, where I held review sessions and facilitated active learning practices with the students. I am graduating with my Masters this summer and will teach Geometry and Algebra 2 at New Trier High School this fall. Outside the classroom, I love running, working out, all-you-can-eat sushi, sitcoms, and traveling!
