Hello! My name is Ms. Britany, and I am a fourth-grade teacher at Melzer Elementary in Morton Grove. I graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in English as a Second Language. During my time at Illinois State, I fell in love with watching students learn and finding different ways to help them feel successful academically, socially, and emotionally. I have had the opportunity to work with students with various diverse needs inside and outside the classroom. I also have had the pleasure of tutoring and nannying students of all age groups within the last few years. My experiences have shaped me into the collaborative, student-centered educator I am today.

I grew up in a northwest suburb of Chicago called Palatine and recently moved to Lincoln Park in Chicago! Outside the classroom, you can find me attending yoga classes at Corepower, walking on the lakefront in Chicago, and trying various new restaurants in the city.

One of the many reasons I love teaching is that you are a lifelong learner. Whether I am learning from my students, parents, or colleagues, I am constantly seeking best practices to educate the diverse needs of each child I interact with. I look forward to beginning my career with JAM Teaching and sharing my passion and enthusiasm for learning with you!
