Hello! My name is Ms. Lily. I am currently a third-grade teacher at a math and science academy school. My teaching journey began in 2018 when I taught pre-K while working towards my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. After I graduated from Illinois State University, I went on to earn my Master’s in Elementary Education. Through this, I have taught first and third grade, and I couldn’t love it more. Throughout my days in the classroom, I consistently maintain the mindset that every child comes into the room with different needs. It allows me to be open-minded regarding behaviors since all behaviors communicate a need that is not being met. This approach to education has assisted me in creating beautiful, trusting relationships with all students, opening the door for magical learning and growth. My top priorities as an educator will always be to teach the WHOLE child and to foster confidence in my students to take responsibility for their journey as life-long learners. I enjoy my work with JAM Teaching and Consulting, building meaningful experiences with students that will provide them with the skills to solve challenges in the real world. Outside the classroom, you can find me doing anything and everything active and outdoors. My favorite pastimes are working out and going on walks with my dog. I also love to cook, spend time with my family, and read.
