I’m Ms. Maddie, and I am currently a high school special education English teacher in Northbrook. As a native of Northbrook, with my roots firmly planted in this community, I’ve always felt a deep connection. My journey in education began in middle school when I volunteered with the North Shore Special Education District (now True North) and the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association. This experience ignited my passion for teaching, a passion I've pursued through my degree in Special Education at the University of Illinois and my current work toward becoming a certified Dyslexia Practitioner through the Wilson Reading System. Teaching reading is something I’m particularly passionate about.

Outside the classroom, I’m an avid dancer and a dance teacher in Northbrook. I also enjoy spending quality time with friends and family, reading, traveling, and staying active.

At JAM, my primary goal is to build strong relationships with students and provide them with explicit, systematic instruction. I am deeply committed to fostering connections with families and students and eager to collaborate with you to support your child’s educational journey!
