Hi! My name is Ms. Rebecca, and I have been working as a tutor for over 8 years. I grew up in Deerfield, a northern suburb of Chicago. I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor's degree in Psychological & Brain Sciences and a minor in Spanish, and I am on the pre-med track. After I graduated, I moved to Boulder, Colorado, where I worked as an ACT and SAT prep teacher. The students I worked with averaged +5 points on the ACT and +150 points on the SAT. I just moved back to Chicago to be closer to family, and I am so excited to live in the city and explore all the fun things to do here (although I miss the mountains)! While in college, I worked at my university's admissions office, which allowed me to work with prospective students and their families through the rigorous college application process. Through my experience as an academic tutor, an ACT/SAT tutor, and interviewing students for college admissions, I have met and worked with many students. Everyone has different learning styles, needs, experiences, and backgrounds. I constantly adjust my tutoring course to match my students and maximize their learning potential. I love watching my students' excitement when they finally get a problem that they have been struggling with or reach their goal score on their standardized tests. I want my students to be proud of the hard work that they put in and that they had some unexpected fun along the way. I am very excited to join the JAM team and hope to be a great addition to your student's education!
