Hello! My name is Ms. Rebecca, and I'm so excited to work with you! I live in Evanston with my husband, three-year-old son, and dog. I got my undergrad from the University of Maryland and then received my Masters in Teaching from National Lewis University. I am a former 3rd-grade teacher for the Chicago Public Schools and also worked for 8 years as an instructional coach. I currently work for a curriculum company, helping districts and schools use and implement our instructional materials.
If my 8 years of teaching taught me anything, it's that education is not one size fits all. My core educational belief is that every child has a unique path when it comes to learning. No two students learn the same way, and instruction should be made to fit the student's mode of learning, not the other way around. I also believe that learning should be joyous and fun, and students should be able to see themselves in their instructional materials.I pride myself on being available and responsive and creating time and space for parents and the student to reach me. I can't wait to help your student foster a love of learning and gain confidence in their reading and math skills!
