My name is Ms. Trisha! I have lived in Deerfield for the past twenty years and am proud to call this community my home. I love living in the Chicagoland area and am deeply connected to the people and environment here. I enjoy spending time with my four children and our two dogs. In my free time, I love to read, see movies, and spend time in my garden. My extended family also lives nearby, so we get together whenever possible because family and community are important to me.

Education is not just a profession for me, it's a lifelong passion. My husband and I both share this passion, and our oldest daughter, Ella, is now preparing to become a teacher herself. I earned my undergraduate degree from ISU and my graduate degree from NIU. But my learning didn't stop there. I've dedicated thirty postgraduate hours to furthering my education in this field, and I'm currently working towards obtaining my special education teacher licensure through Northeastern Illinois University. I believe that continuous learning is the key to being an effective teacher, and I find great joy in reading professional texts and engaging in educational groups to stay updated on the current curriculum and best practices.

I began teaching in Wheeling School District 21, where I taught third grade. After that, I spent six years teaching fourth grade in Lake Forest School District 67. I stayed home to raise my four children for the next ten years. During this time, I remained active in the schools by volunteering and continuing to tutor privately. Once my youngest two children attended school full time, I returned to teaching in Northbrook/Glenview School District 30, where I taught second grade and spent one year in first grade.

Building relationships with each child is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work. These connections are the foundation of learning. I strive to create a safe and caring environment where each child feels valued. As a parent and a seasoned teacher, I understand the importance of fostering positive relationships and cultivating a growth mindset.
