IEP stands for Individualized Education Plan/Program.

An IEP is a support plan created by experts that outlines the areas of need, services, and goals for a child's learning. The team can include occupational therapists, physical therapists, general education teachers, special education teachers, parents, para-educators, and speech pathologists. It maps out specific goals for the individual student; defining particular areas of need and goals to increase the child's success. It's aim is to decrease the gap in achievement between their current skills and their same-age peers.
