Most schools have a Response to Intervention system in place. It is a system made of three tiers. Tier one is considered a general education classroom. Teachers are often able to differentiate their classroom instruction to meet the needs of all of their students. However, only 80% of the class are expected to master these skills taught. The classroom teacher conducts ongoing assessments and progress monitoring. Any students struggling are typically referred to tier 2 for more intensive, targeted instruction.
If your child is going through the RTI process, tutoring is a helpful option to support the acquisition of skills. We are happy to talk through any questions you have about your child's learning and development! JAM Tutors are here for you!
